Finally in Lycia

From our hotel in Istanbul it took 8 hours of travel before we checked in at muzzy's place in the small village of kayakoy in Lycia. 2.5 km to the domestic airport took half an hour, it seemed like all the roads were filled with yellow taxis.
Brief chaos at Aturturk domestic airport due to many different long queues and the need to check my backpack since it contains sharp implements. However we made it to the gate 45 mins before departure to Dalaman.
Leaving Istanbul.

The plane was the same size Airbus that I flew in from Boston, completely full with Turkish tourists including a live doggie a couple of rows behind me. The scenery was of rugged mountains along the way.
The landing of three big planes resulted in a very crowded small airport in Dalaman, but my backpack was first on the conveyer belt and we were quickly out into the sunshine where all the tourist companies were waiting to take the tourists to nearby resorts, but we hopped on the comfy bus to Fethiye and each grabbed a snooze.

The man keeping track of passengers taking local busses had a camel cigarette box as a table and he was very diligent. Tomorrow we will start walking.
